THE COMPANY

The Japanese Cat was born in 2017 in the northern mountains of Madrid. The company is made up of the circus artists Elena Vives and Diego García, the dancer Laura Miralbés and the clown Hugo Miró. In 2018 they premiere the show Lumières Foraines under the direction of Leandre Ribera and in 2021 the solo show "Los Viajes de Bowa" starring Elena Vives and directed by Lucas Escobedo. In their shows they combine circus, magic, acrobatics, dance and humor with a careful staging. The company has received with its short numbers the Mandrakes d'Or in Paris in 2020, the audience award and the Roncalli Circus award at the Newcomershow festival in Leipzig in 2018 and has entered the top 30 of the 2nd Online Circus Festival in 2021 At the Fetén de Gijón festival in 2021, Elena receives the award for best circus performer for her participation in the play Creatura de las cías.
